BIO

From the first time he took to the track , Bobby Gerhart has proven that he has what it takes to be a winner. In his very first feature race , Bobby brought his red and white Camaro street stock home in first place. This performance at Linda's Speedway was just the starting point of Bobby Gerhart's racing career.

Over the years , Bobby has driven many types of cars. From the humble beginnings of the street stocks to the Winston Cup circuit , Bobby has experienced both the thrill of victory and the sorrows of defeat.

He was competing in the dirt modified circuit of central Pennsylvnia where he established himself as a very solid competitor and skillful race driver much like his father before him. His accomplishments on the ovals such as Penn National and Susquehanna Speedway were a stepping stone to his current success as an ARCA Bondo / Mar- Hyde driver.

The Pocono International Speedway is where Bobby first cut his teeth on asphalt racing. He qualified to run the Winston Cup race in a car owned by Henley Grey and sponsored by LPS Racers. He ran the Pocono Winston Cup races for a few years in rented equipment before buying his own cars. He has started a total of 28 Winston Cup races.

Bobby entered the ARCA series in 1988 and was named the ARCA Rookie of the Year. in his 80 plus ARCA starts, Bobby has garnered 27 top ten finishes and 9 top five finishes. In 1991, Bobby had one of his most successful ARCA campaigns, finishing in the top five in points.

Bobby hasn't only driven race cars. Over the past few seasons he has driven in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series in the Truck World sponsored race truck.

The 1998 season brought with it a lot of hope as Kewadin Casinos came aboard as a major sponsor. Bobby started the season with an 8th place finish in the nationally televised race from Daytona International Speedway.

On Febuary 7, 1999, Bobby Gerhart accomplished what most race car drivers dream about. After starting on the outside pole in the ARCA 200, Bobby led 57 of the 80 laps and pulled into victory lane at the Daytona International Speedway. 1999 also saw Bobby get back to the ARCA series full time. Bobby was rewarded with a 3rd place finish in the point standings. Bobby recorded his second ARCA super speedway win at Talladega on October 20, 2001. After starting on the pole, Bobby led an amazing 105 of 113 laps and totally dominated with his new Pontiac.

Febuary 2002 started out with a fifth place starting position at Daytona International Speedway and a second win at the famed superspeedway. Bobby lead 38 of 58 laps to back up his first win in 1999.

Febuary of 2003 and 2004 lead to two more pole wins at Daytona International Speedway, but lady luck was not to be with a fourteenth and sixth place finish in both races. In 2004 Lucas Oil joined the team as its primary sponsor.

Upon returning to the famed superspeedway in February of 2005, Bobby and his crew won thier third pole in a row and dominated the race leading 58 of 65 laps to earn his third win at Daytona.

On February 12, 2006, the BGR team opened the season at Daytona International Speedway with a record setting consecutive fourth pole and a dominating record setting fourth win. The team lead the points halfway through the season. In October, Bobby and the BGR team earned thier second pole of the season at Talladega Superspeedway. The teams performance lead to a second in points in 2006 for the ARCA Re-Max Series.
